Fatyak Kayak’s Chosen Charity

The RNLI aims to save lives by changing attitudes and behaviour among people who use the sea regularly. RNLI lifeguards patrol more than 100 beaches in the UK in peak season and assisted almost 10,000 people last year.

RNLI lifeboats rescued almost 8,000 people, an average of 21 people a day last year. Volunteer crew members readily exchange leisure, comfort and sleep for cold, wet and fatigue. Their lifesaving work is essential, often difficult and sometimes dangerous. People from all walks of life help the RNLI to save lives at sea.

Thousands of volunteers and staff give their time, skill and commitment. There are over 230 RNLI lifeboat stations and over 70 RNLI lifeguarded beaches throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland .

To go on saving lives at sea means training and equipping our volunteer crews. This costs money and, as a charity, the RNLI needs your support.
